Free Pattern

22 Jan

Well I have finally published my first pattern for January and I am going to give a copy away for free. If you have a Ravelry account I can gift it to you there, otherwise I can send it through via email. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I will randomly draw someone out of a hat to gift the pattern to.

The pattern is Asrai Fairy Stole and it is available on Ravelry or Craftsy at the moment 🙂 Anyway leave your comments and I will let you know if you are the winner. I am also holding a CAL for this pattern here on Ravelry

2 days later.

7 Jan

Well it’s now the end of the day on the 7th (for me anyway) and so far so good! I have mostly stuck with the changes I am making and am finding it a little easier than I thought it would be…although I think that’s because I am removing myself from temptation as often as possible and keeping my hands busy with crochet. I find I can’t eat as much when I’m working as it’s irritating to have to put everything down to eat and then to get up and wash my hands before I start again!

I am usingCalorie King to keep track of my calories and that is working out quite well, I don’t have to do nearly as much work adding up and when I have more time I’ll have a look at all their other functions.

On that note I finished and blocked a stole yesterday, my first time using any kind of lace weight yarn. It’s not nearly as scary as I thought it would be, a bit fiddly but it was easier the more I used it. I also found that with this stole using the dk in some sections gave me a bit of a break from the lace and that made it easier too……it is here, I am running a test for it at the moment. Sorry I can’t upload any photos yet because I’m on the wrong computer (why is it that the stuff I want is never on the computer I’m using at the time!).

Black Ice Slouchy Hat.

20 Dec

Well I haven been able to post for ages it seems, just busy with all the Christmas preparations. I have finally finished and published my latest hat pattern. Black Ice Slouchy Hat is available on Ravelry now.

I was going to photograph it again but decided I quite like the photos I had and it was going to take me until after Christmas before I was able to do another round of photos so I just went with the ones I had already. I would thank all my testers for the wonderful job they did with this pattern in such a busy season.

New Pattern.

7 Dec

A new pattern added to Ravelry today….Pastel Confection my latest Cowl/Infinity Scarf or shoulder wrap…I am never quite sure what to call these things 🙂

Some photos for you. It has been really hot so I had been waiting until it cooled down a little before asking Tonaya to wrap herself up in this but it wasn’t cooling down quick enough for me so she was a good sport and did it anyway. As you can see we cut her hair short since the semi-formal and I think it looks wonderful……..(Being her mother though I think she looks wonderful in any thing, lol.)

Pattern test

3 Dec

There is not much to say today…we are in the middle of a heatwave and have had several days over 30 degrees…tomorrow is supposed to be 39 so I haven’t been thinking about doing much at all, just getting through the heat!

I have set up a new pattern test on Ravelry though….it is here. for anyone who is interested, for Black Ice the colourwork hat I designed recently.

Hopefully I can have this test all wrapped up before Christmas.

Busy, busy, busy!

20 Nov

Well I was a really busy girl yesterday, aside from writing 3 patterns and finishing 3 articles that I needed to post off to a yarn company over here that I do some work for I managed to get a start on a couple of hats that simply wouldn’t stop bugging me!

As you can see one is finished (although the photos aren’t much good) and the other two are well under way. I love making hats, they are such versatile objects, nice and quick while they can show off all sorts of stitch patterns :). Hopefully I’ll have these finished within a week and I can get them out for testing!

Have a great day.
